SOLHAR - READYMIX CONCRETE for VERMEULENS brand new N12 business park development (11)

SOLHAR READYMIX, a leading supplier of high-quality concrete solutions, was selected as the exclusive provider of READYMIX CONCRETE for VERMEULENS’ ambitious new N12 business park development project.

Over the course of the construction, SOLHAR READYMIX delivered an impressive volume of nearly 4,000 cubic meters of specialized concrete, expertly formulated to meet the unique requirements of both the exterior and interior aspects of the buildings.

To ensure optimal performance and durability, SOLHAR READYMIX incorporated advanced additives and techniques into their concrete mixes, including the use of fibre reinforcement and specialized screed applications.

By leveraging their extensive experience, cutting-edge technology, and unwavering commitment to quality, SOLHAR READYMIX successfully processed and supplied the project with the necessary concrete, contributing significantly to the timely completion and overall success of VERMEULENS’ state-of-the-art N12 business park development.

When faced with the daunting challenge of pouring concrete over vast expanses, Solhar Ready Mix knew they had to bring their A-game.

The clock was ticking, and the specter of cold joints loomed large – those pesky little seams that form when fresh concrete is poured against hardened concrete. But Solhar was determined to deliver a flawless result for their client, no matter the obstacles in their way.

With a fleet of state-of-the-art mixer trucks at the ready and a crew of seasoned pros manning the pumps, they set out to conquer the sprawling site at a blistering pace.

Time was of the essence as they raced against the setting sun, expertly maneuvering their equipment to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted flow of premium-grade concrete.

In a stunning display of skill and coordination, the Solhar team managed to cover immense swaths of ground in record time, leaving behind a pristine expanse of unbroken gray – a testament to their unwavering commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.

SOLHAR - READYMIX CONCRETE for VERMEULENS brand new N12 business park development (9)
SOLHAR - READYMIX CONCRETE for VERMEULENS brand new N12 business park development (6)

The construction project demanded a relentless pace, with the concrete team frequently needing over 120 cubic yards of concrete to be delivered and poured before noon.

This enormous volume of material was essential to allow the crew sufficient time to level and float the expansive slabs well into the night hours, ensuring the concrete cured properly and the surfaces were ready for the subsequent construction phases the following day.

Coordinating such large deliveries and pours required meticulous planning, seamless logistics, and often a bit of luck with cooperative weather. But the experienced team was accustomed to the pressure and consistently delivered high quality results, even when the unforgiving concrete trucks kept arriving before and after pouring rain.

The staccato rhythm of the continuous pours, the smell of wet concrete, and the focused intensity of the crew as they worked in unison to beat the setting sun became a regular cadence as the structure steadily took shape, slab by slab, day by long day.

SOLHAR - READYMIX CONCRETE for VERMEULENS brand new N12 business park development (3)

The timing between prepared surfaces was absolutely critical, a high-stakes dance where every second counted. It required razor-sharp coordination and a finely-tuned sense of rhythm from the team.

Like a world-class orchestra playing in perfect unison, each member had to be completely in sync, their movements precisely calibrated and flawlessly executed. The slightest misstep or momentary hesitation could throw the entire operation out of whack. Surfaces had to be prepped and ready to go at just the right instant, not a beat too soon or too late.

It was a heart-pounding, adrenaline-pumping race against the clock where the team’s split-second timing and seamless coordination meant the difference between sweet success and disastrous failure.

But this team had it down to an art, attacking the challenge with the skill and finesse of seasoned pros, making the dizzying dance of impeccable timing look almost effortless.

SOLHAR - READYMIX CONCRETE for VERMEULENS brand new N12 business park development (2)

Through strategic foresight and meticulous planning, our team ensured that the truck had seamless access to the building’s interior, allowing for the efficient delivery of ready-mix concrete precisely where it was needed.

By carefully coordinating logistics and working closely with the construction crew, we eliminated potential obstacles and streamlined the entire process.

This proactive approach not only saved valuable time and resources but also demonstrated our unwavering commitment to exceeding client expectations.

Our confidence in our ability to navigate complex challenges and deliver concrete solutions sets us apart in the industry.

Solhar diligently planned ahead to flawlessly execute this Vermeulens project. We approached this task with an expert level of dedication and attention to detail.

The successful execution of this critical phase of the project stands as a testament to our team’s expertise, adaptability, and unwavering focus on delivering outstanding results.

Ensuring good quality joints between casted floors and floors being casted is critical to avoid cold cracks and maintain structural integrity.

This is achieved through meticulous attention to detail and adherence to industry best practices. The interface between the hardened concrete and fresh concrete being poured must be properly prepared by thoroughly cleaning the surface, removing any laitance or debris, and roughening it to enable a strong bond.

Applying a suitable bonding agent to the interface further enhances adhesion. Proper consolidation of the new concrete at the joint using vibration techniques eliminates voids and honeycombing.

Crack control measures such as the placement of appropriately spaced contraction joints and the use of reinforcing steel or wire mesh provide additional safeguards against cold cracks.

Careful curing of the concrete, especially at the joint area, by maintaining proper moisture levels and temperature for sufficient time promotes optimal strength development.

With diligent execution of these techniques, we consistently achieve excellent quality joints between casted floors, resulting in monolithic, crack-resistant concrete slabs.

SOLHAR - READYMIX CONCRETE for VERMEULENS brand new N12 business park development (4)

To ensure the desired power float and polished finishes on the concrete floors met the client’s high standards, a rigorous quality assurance process was implemented.

This began with careful selection of premium raw materials from trusted suppliers known for their consistency and adherence to industry specifications. Frequent testing at various stages of the concrete mixing process verified the proper proportions and uniformity of the mixture.

Experienced technicians precisely monitored the addition of specialized additives and reinforcing fibers to enhance strength, durability, and suitability for the planned finishing techniques. Systematic sampling and lab analysis of the poured concrete confirmed it achieved the required compressive strength and other key performance characteristics.

Tightly controlled curing conditions, including temperature and humidity, optimized the concrete’s properties for an extended service life. Finally, skilled craftsmen meticulously executed the power floating and polishing processes, transforming the concrete surfaces into smooth, dense, and visually striking floors that will retain their beauty and functionality for years to come under the proper care and maintenance.

SOLHAR Ready Mix went above and beyond to ensure complete client satisfaction on this project.

From the initial consultation, their attentive staff took the time to thoroughly understand the client’s specific needs and timeline.

The company’s state-of-the-art fleet of mixing trucks and experienced crew were swiftly dispatched to the job site at the appointed hour. Upon arrival, the team worked with precision and care, expertly pouring and finishing the high-grade concrete mix to the client’s exact specifications. The concrete was of superior quality – smooth, durable and able to withstand heavy use.

Throughout the process, the crew kept the client informed of their progress and readily answered any questions. As the last truck pulled away, the client surveyed the pristine site, impressed by the impeccable results and professional service. The company’s dedication to responsive communication, punctual performance, and top-tier work made them a standout partner.

The client's satisfaction was evident in their beaming smile and hearty handshake with the foreman as they wrapped up another successful job, delivered to perfection and concluded right on schedule.

Botswana Stage Tank – Water Storage and Pump Project

01 SOLHAR Botswana - Water Storage and Pump - Stage Tank

Grade B container purchase and delivered. Not in too bad of a shape.

Details about this Project;

THE CLIENT’S REQUEST:

Our client in Botswana requested us to come up with a solution for a stage tank to be able to store and pump water out of the pit area. Because of the depth of the pit, it is not feasible to pump water all the way up and out. The pumps required to do this is not cost effective. To be able to use smaller pumps the water needs to be pump in stages i.e. halfway up and then the last bit out of the pit area.

THE SOLUTION:

To achieve this, you need to be able to store large quantities of water before pumping it further.

We did some investigation and realized that is you reinforce and seal a container it will work perfectly.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 01

Our Solhar team started by strengthening the container frame from the outside.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 02

Container is boxed up and twice as rigid as before.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 03

The original floor in containers are made from wood which needed to be removed and new floor installed made from sheet metal.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 02

To assist with the pressure of weight of 80000lt, we installed pipe supports on the inside of the container.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 03

Access hatches were also fabricated for easy access for maintenance and repairs if needed.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 02

Part of the request was to be able easily place the stage tank in new positions as required.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 03

The easiest way to do this, was to build a sled on which it can be pulled.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 02

Due to the size of the sled, it was assembled and welled in 2 halves.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 03

Once welded they were joined together and,

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 02

The container was placed on top of the sled and welded in position.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 06

A water test showed some leaks, which was quickly repaired.

Considering it was a grade B container there was very little water lost.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 06
VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 03

We applied a water resistance primer to the inside on the tank.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 02

Nice inside paint job!

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 03

Same water-resistant primer was applied on the outside.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 02

Final paint applied to make the staged tank look brand new.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 03

Loaded and on its way to its destination in Botswana. The tank worked so well that they ordered another on 3 months later.

Men tend to lose their identity in these trying times. We are identified as hard working men taking ownership and responsibility as good, loyal GOD fearing men for our households! BE THE MAN everyone talks about. Stand out in the crowd. Believe and NEVER forget your role and responsibility.

Deliver service. Something we tend to be dislodged from in society in having a basic right to services rendered around us. If GOD stops to deliver the sun, moon, and stars on time we are done with and therefore we strive to keep our focus on delivery of service to our customers.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 03

Details about this Project;

THE PROBLEM AND CLIENT’S REQUEST:

We were request by VERMEULENS and TRAMWAY / JENNEY INTERNET to install a WIFI tower on the new site.

Constraints that were facing us getting the right position and hight to be able to receive a strong signal. Problem is the best position was right in the path of the roadway for the delivery vehicles, we had to improvise to achieve the same result.

THE SOLUTION:

Decision was made to fix the WIFI tower to the side of the building out of the path of the delivery vehicles and in the best position possible.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 01

Fixing the first tower section and bracket to the side of the building.

We needed to clear the sheeting.

Nobody wants to fix sheeting!!!

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 02

The brackets was welded to the outside column and anchored through the wall with treaded bar and back plates to ensure it will go nowhere.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 03

The securing of the first section took time, but it was worth it.

It is the base that holds everything else upright.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 02

Normally we install the tower sections with a jig, but due to the area and the complexity of the installation we decided it would be safer to use on of our cranes and assemble all the sections on the ground and lift it with on lift.

VERMEULENS NEW DEVELOPMENT – WIFI TOWER INSTALLATION 05

Tightening the last bolts!

Job done with quality. Job done safely! Happy client! We can ask for no more!
